This week, two of the smaller Brazilian airlines, Azul and TRIP, decided to merge in an effort to create a third major domestic airline to compete with the likes of TAM (quote) and Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes (GOL, quote).
LAN Airlines S.A. (LFL, quote) reported a 14.7% year-over-year passenger increase for the month of March, reports Reuters. As well, the South American carrier grew 14% YOY for the quarter.
