India elections will start on April 7th and last into May 16th.  Significant change has been priced into the SENEX (see chart below) into the event. Are investors set up disappointment?

A BJP-led coalition now looks very likely but we don’t know if they will get the required votes to put Mr. Modi in as Prime Minter.

As much as we want to believe in the reform process taking fresh flight, we caution that change in India is not rapid but glacial. Can we possibly live up to the outcome?  In other key elections, markets have been surprised by the outcomes and the Sensex rallied strongly post event.

At 17.6X current P/E the market is in middle of historic valuation range while the market is at all-time highs.
